exchange 2010 / sbs 2011 mailbox permissions get screwed up / make problems trough the management shell

| I just ran into a problem where one user was not able to access his mailbox anymore, neither trough OWA nor trough Outlook, the fix was to remove the Full Access Permission for NT-Authority\SYSTEM trough the exchange management console on this mailbox. Altough nothing has changed in the permissions when viewing them trough the shell, after removing the permission for nt-authority\self everything was working fine again. no idea why this happens. one thing i noticed was that the full access permissions for nt-authority\self showed up twice in the shell. use this to view mailbox permissions trough the shell: Get-Mailbox xPermission | FT User,AccessRights -AutoSize hope this helps somebody ... |
