| if you want to open the registry for example from a backup harddrive you can do this using regedit from windows - just start regedit, go to one of the nodes (like hkey_users) and click on file - load hive - if you want to load the hkey_current_user hive just navigate to x:\users\username\ntuser.dat otherwise check c:\windows\system32\config |
